elevationMembers of the public were given the opportunity to have an input in the overall design of the hospital during a public consultation period earlier this year. People were asked to comment on issues such as the general design of the building, its location, views from inside the hospital, how the building should feel internally, the grounds, and how the hospital could be made environmentally friendly. During the period of public engagement, nearly 200 people visited four exhibitions and the Primary Care Trust received 115 feedback forms. The overall opinion was that residents were pleased and enthusiastic about the prospect of a new hospital in Malvern. The most common view expressed was that there should be sufficient parking on-site, and that the 24 bed hospital should be a mixture of contemporary and traditional design which tones in with existing buildings in the area and have enough room to expand if the number of beds if and when required. Members of the public also believed the building could be made more environmentally friendly with the use of solar panels, rain water recycling and the use of sustainable materials.

A Hospital Advisory Group has been set up so that members of the local community have a further opportunity to input into the project and members of the group will be working closely with the Malvern Hospital League of Friends.
